Obituary

Maggie Arlene Holland Pinkett was fondly known as Aunt Maggie or Grandma to everyone. She was born to the late Andrew and Rosie Holland in McLean, Virginia. Maggie resided in Sterling, Virginia and passed peacefully at home surrounded by loving family.

Maggie's early childhood education was in Fairfax County at the Odricks School in McLean, Virginia. She went on to attend Francis Jr. High School. Maggie worked for Fairfax County Public Schools as a school bus driver for 26 years. Maggie loved her job and was known for her Cherries Jubilee lipstick and for kissing misbehaving kids on the cheek and not allowing them to wipe it off until they got off of her bus.

Maggie loved The Lord and joined Shiloh Baptist Church in McLean, Virginia at an early age. She sang in the choir, served as an Usher and also served in The Willing Workers ministry. Maggie served as a faithful Deaconness for many years. She shared her love for God with everyone she came into contact with. She loved her church family immensely and at times would cook and bring food and delicious cakes to choir rehearsals and bible study.

Maggie was a vibrant, independent, loving, caring, God fearing woman. She loved cooking, singing, being at church, and being surrounded by family and loved ones. Maggie helped to raise her grandchildren as well as her great grandchildren, among others. Everyone who came into her presence was blessed by her sweet spirit.

Maggie is preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Isaiah Pinkett, Jr., as well as her father and mother, and 13 siblings, Leon, Isabelle, Leonard, Laura, Ada, Eunice, Nellie, Alice, Edith, Andrew, Chester, Clara, and Ruby.

Left behind to cherish Maggie's memory are her children, Carolyn Bush (William), Michael Pinkett (Lezlie), Allen Pinkett (Carol Anne), 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
