Obituary for Elwood L. Berry

March 16, 1946 - June 8, 2020
Manassas, Virginia | Age 74

The Life of Elwood Lewis Berry
Brother Elwood L. Berry, son of the late Deacon Wade H. Berry Sr. and Deaconess Pearl A. Johnson Berry, was born on March 16, 1946, in Prince William Country, Virginia. At the age of 74, he entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 08, 2020, at the Birmingham Green Nursing Home of Manassas, Virginia.
Elwood was educated in the Prince William County School System. He also took barbering classes in Richmond, Virginia, and received a certificate. In his lifetime he worked as a farmhand, barber and janitor.
Elwood enjoyed collecting model-size replicas of old cars and farm equipment, watching television (especially Judge Judy, Westerns and Chicago P.D.), and eating his favorite snacks of ice cream, Little Debbie Oatmeal Cookies, and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends no matter the occasion.
Before moving to Willow Oaks Assisted living in Manassas, Virginia in 2015, One of his favorite pass times was riding around and hanging out with his cousin, Morris Davis and good friend, Walter 'Bunny' Page, who are now deceased.
Elwood often worried about his three brothers and would ask from time to time how each of them was. Even on the day he was admitted to the hospital, barely able to breathe, he said, "How is Billy? And did you call Wade and Roy?"
Elwood leaves to mourn his passing Three brothers John Billy" Berry, Wade H. Berry Jr., and Roy A. Berry Sr.; A Sister-in-law, Francis Berry, and the Marshall Family; A Niece, Denise "Nece" Berry; Three Nephews, Roy A. Berry Jr. (Adrienne), H. O'Brien Berry, and Marcus P. Berry; A Great Nephew, Alexander C. Berry; A Great Niece, Niah A. R. Berry; Best Friend, Brother, and Barber, Clarence Bushrod Jr. (loving known by Elwood as "Clarencejunior"); a Devoted Friend, Terry Richardson, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Elwood had to leave us; it was his time. We will miss him and he will be in our hearts forever. God loaned him to us for a moment, but needed him at His doors in Heaven.
With love, The Family
