Obituary

Davario Valenté Bates known most as "D" was welcomed into this world by his loving parents, the "late" Kisha Bates and Anthony Tyler on October 22, 1987.

"D" had many hobbies, some of which included playing sports, drawing, cooking, watching movies, dancing, and riding four wheelers. As a child "D" loved cartoons. His favorite cartoons were Power Rangers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He loved watching movies with his family, especially during his Aunt Tina's yearly slumber parties with his cousins and siblings.

His love for sports was something that came easily. He excelled in basketball and football, but his true love was boxing. He could draw anything anyone asked and it seemed effortless. Riding four wheelers was something he enjoyed doing with his Uncle Brian to pass the time as well as going to frequent cookouts the Bates family would hold. He loved to cook, eat and enjoy his favorite food crabs frequently.

Davario was educated in the Prince William County School System where he attended Osbourn High School, and later obtained his GED. He had many jobs over the years from working at Jiffy Lube with his Uncle John, landscaping, to becoming a barber which was his passion. He was also a diehard Redskins fan, and would root for them win or lose each season.

More important than any hobby he had, he loved being a father to his boys Davione and Eli Bates. His sons were his joy, and he loved spending time with them. Whether it was taking them to the park to play basketball, helping them with their school work, or playing video games with them, his sons were his heart outside of his body.

Most importantly, during the time spent living with his Aunt Robin they would discuss life and spirituality. Davario was a Christian who knew and loved the Lord! On February 26, 2021, Davario peacefully transitioned from this earthly realm to be with GOD!

D was preceded in death by his mother Kisha Bates, his grandparents Clayton Tyler Jr. and Betty Williams, and his uncles David Tyler, Terry Tyler, Samuel Jones, and Albert Tyler.

He leaves to celebrate his life, his sons Davione Bates (his mother Ashley White) and Eli Bates, his Father Anthony Tyler and Step-Mother Amber Tyler; his Grandparents, Edwina (Sis) Bates, John Bates and Step-Grandparents Paul Williams, John and Beverly Ellis; his Siblings Markus Mathis, Micah Smith, Antonia Tyler-Godley (Marcus Godley), Markell Bates, Markiana Bates, Markayla Bates, Markia Mathis, and Allyson Tyler; nieces Amaya Godley, Natalia Smith, and Aleah Smith; Aunts and Uncles, Robin Tyler, Tina Hawkins (Dominic Hawkins), Claudine Bates, Kim Morton (Brian Morton), Clayton Tyler III, Nathaniel Tyler, Judy Garland, Diane Jones, John Bates (Caroline Parkes), and Darlene Davis; Cousins Gary Spencer, Kelvin Bates, Alika Lorenzana (Eli Lorenzana), Ricky Hatcher (Michelle Hatcher), Dominic Hatcher, Chaz Bates, Damian Bates, Xavier Parkes, Téa Bates, Keisha Brown (Lionel Brown), Samantha Black (Rashard Black), Devonte Jones, Deon Jones, Darren Davis, and Attafay Davis; and his special friend Alexis Melton.
