Obituary

On November 22, 2020, Daijyonna Akira Renee Long earned her Heavenly Wings. Daijyonna was born September 18, 2000 in Fairfax, Virginia to Cherise Renee Thomas and DeShawn Julius William Long. She grew up between Fredricksburg and Stafford, Virginia with her brother and sister.

While attending Colonial Forge High School she participated in cheerleading, chorus, and photography to name a few. She graduated in 2018 and began her college career at Richard Bland College of William and Mary. While there she was a Residence Assistant and attended classes for Nursing – she wanted to be a Pediatric NICU Nurse. While at Richard Bland she and her roommates began a small business - "Is It B.A.D" Boutique. In addition, she also did make-up for special events and LOVED to make everyone feel FABULOUS.

Daijyonna was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and friend to many. She enjoyed family, music, singing, hanging out with her friends and eating good food. She loved to travel and had her mind set on a collection of passport stamps while she was living her best life traveling around the globe. Her spirit and energy was INFECTIOUS. Her smile, sass, and spunk made people glow and she was always a DIVA. Loyal to everyone - she was one of a kind. She was a blessing and a LIFE CHANGER, especially for her mother.

Daijyonna is proceeded in death by her maternal and paternal Grandfathers Michael Murray Moore and Monte McLean and Paternal Grandmother Eva Walker.

She leaves to cherish her memories – her mother, Cherise Renee Thomas; father, DeShawn Julius William Long; brother, Dajaun Isaiah Julius Long; sisters, Jai'lyianna, Adriana, and Shania. Grandparents: Elsie Thomas, Betty Long-Morton, and Robert Linwood Walker. Uncle, Duriel Thomas; Aunt, Keisha Evon Moore; Goddaughter, Aubrey Rene Shacklewood; and a host of Great Aunts and Uncles, cousins, and friends.

The funeral home will be following Virginia state mandated Covid-19 measures. Temperatures will be taken at the door, masks are required, and social distancing will be practiced.
