Obituary for Queen Elizabeth Green-Brown

March 27, 1949 - May 9, 2021
Woodbridge, Virginia | Age 72

Queen Elizabeth Green-Brown (who was also known to many as "Bob" or "Bobbie") was born on March 27, 1949 in Loretta, VA (Essex County). She was the fifth child of seventeen children born to the late Ernest and Viola Gardner. She peacefully departed this life on May 9th, 2021 at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center.

She received her early education from the Essex County Public Schools and went to several programs to further her education. Queen was a dedicated employee of Arlington County Public Schools Extended Day Program, from which she retired. After her retirement she continued to work as an Accountant and Child Care worker for Dale City Christian Church.

Queen was a loving birth mom, foster mom and adopted mom. She cared about people and did whatever she could to help. Even when she was sick, she always had the strength and courage to do things that most people would not expect from a sick person. She always smiled, laughed and had fun with whoever she was around. She loves her kids! No matter whose child you were she would give her last meal and her last dime, to help whoever was in need. If she had it, she would help. Today is a day for us to remember and celebrate a great and loving woman, that was well-known to everyone as a friendly person.

Queen leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, James E. Brown, daughter Sharron Green-Smith, son-in-law Jeffrey T. Smith, three sons, Rex, Stephen, and Jimmy Brown; two granddaughters, Madelynn and Annaliese Brown, two special angels, Chloe Johnson and Ava Washington, five brothers, eight sisters, several in-laws, a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, cousins and friends
