'Bob" Fields and I were in the same class at Va.Union Univ. He was well known on the Univ. campus. His strong voice was a part of Union's choir and on the Omega frat line. He was also active in VUU's alumni association. I offer my condolences to his family. Bob will be missed by many.

It is with sadness that we receive the news of the passing of our dear brother. Fields was a faithful member of the Ebony Society of Philatelic Events and Reflections (ESPER) and was the Virginia State Director for as long as I have known him. His love of history led him to stamp collecting and he was know to quiz you to make sure that you knew your topic. He often spoke of his family and his church family which were all held dear to his heart....Oh, and Virginia Union! He would never resist an opportunity to talk about 'Union"!! Rest in Peace, Good Brother.

To Bob's children, family, and friends,
I am thinking of you and praying for you during this difficult time. Bob was a faithful member of Ebony Society of Philatelic Events and Reflections (ESPER) as well as our ESPER Virginia chapter director for several years. I still remember the first time I met him. His voice, extraordinary smile, and teasing enveloped me. I was in Brooklyn in 2014 attending my first stamp ceremony which honored Shirley Chisholm. I saw a group of ESPER members standing together at the end of the ceremony and I introduced myself. He inquired about my attendance and I mentioned that I was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority (Shirley Chisholm was also a member). Bob then proceeded to quiz me to ensure I knew all of the Deltas who were honored on stamps. Bob loved educating others about stamps and I will certainly miss his passion! Thank you for sharing him with ESPER. I hope it brings you comfort that Bob is now resting in peace with his wife.

Dear Uncle Bobby, I will miss your booming voice as you teased and fussed at me but always with a smile. I enjoyed hanging with you whenever I had a chance and our phone calls over the years were always an insightful and bonding experience for me. A wonderful "extra" dad. Love you, Valerie

To the children and family of Bob and Carol Fields. We remember Bob with fond members as he was a friend, a distant relative and our insurance agent for over 30 years. Renelda and I worshiped with Bob and Carol at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Arlington, VA for over 30 years, and socialized with them especially in Alpha Pi Chi Sorority, Alpha Alpha Chapter of which Carol was a member. We have very fond memories of them both. Bob was an excellent Agent, an Encourager and Motivator. They are truly missed but will remain always in our thoughts and heart. Rest in Peace Bob as you are now with your loved one and both singing to God's Glory. To the family we give you the love, joy and understanding of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Gone but never forgotten. Agape Love, Rev. Dr. Daniel L., Renelda, Brentina & Desire.

Bob was a unique person who loved people and had a wealth of knowledge. We sang on Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Arlington, Senior Choir with Bob and Carol for 30 years. Our friendship also extended as Carol was a member of Alpha Alpha Chapter, Arlington, VA. We miss Bob and Carol and their memories will always be in our hearts. Rest in Peace. Renelda, Rev.
