Tribute & Message From The Family

The Life of Alfonso Williams
Alfonso Williams also known as "Butch" and "Al" was a native of Virginia, born to the late Maury (Chapman) and Sallie Williams. He was the youngest of nine, four of which preceded him in death: Lawrence (Rabbit) Williams, Leo (Dick) Williams, Charles (Pap) Williams, and Mary (Molly) Marshman. He departed from this life on Sunday, May 31, 2020.
He was educated in Fairfax County, Va public schools, graduating from Penn Foster High School in Pennsylvania through the GED program. He received two degrees from Elizabeth Bryant Business College in Account and Small business. He then went to Kenneth Copelands Ministry for several years where he graduated with honors and received his ministers license which qualified him to be a minister/reverend.
His parents instilled in him Godly principles, family values, and great work ethic. At the young age of 9 he was baptized at Carterville Baptist Church and continued to attend through the age of 13. Alfonso re-dedicated his life to Christ at a later age and studied the word of God diligently. For 17 years, Alfonso worked under the late Chuck Colson at Prison Fellowship Ministries. He later started doing what he also loved to do which was home improvement.
Alfonso was a great man of Faith and loved the Lord. He was a "Cool Dude", fun loving, and enjoyable to be around. He was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and loved to watch college football. He cherished his family and loved to be around them as much as possible. Whenever he had a chance to go out with family, especially to eat, he took the opportunity. He always made sure he would capture the moments that he shared with everyone by always taking pictures. He also loved spending quality time with his kids. Alfonso was a hard worker and knew how to do just about everything. He was known to many as the "Jack of all trades". From remodeling houses to re-building computers, he knew how to do it. He loved his family and would do all he could to make sure he showed it. In addition to working he started his first singing group with the late Rudolph Honesty and Jimmy Harris. Later, they were joined by other members which developed into the Eternity Gospel Singers.
He leaves to cherish his memory a host of family: his four children, Pagant Jones(Daron), Termia Talbert(Eric), Sarah Williams, Branden Williams, and Breanna Williams; four siblings, Gladys Woodfork, Shirley Hawkins, Maury Williams, and Sadie Thomas; four grandchildren, Jamia Denny, Damu Denny, Ryan Talbert and Alexis Talbert, NeNe Green, Ebony Green, Kevin Perry Jr., and four great-grandchildren.

What a wonderful human being. A great father to myself and many others. I fear not because I know pop is exactly where he wanted to be in this afterlife. I fear not because I know pop is still watching over me and his loved one's as he's done for so long. It has and still is a pleasure to been a part of this great and wonderful man's life.. love you Pop....
