Tribute & Message From The Family

Audrey Marie Conley

August 9, 1938 - May 5, 2020

It is with deep regret we announce that COVID -19 has claimed the life of our beloved Audrey Marie Conley, wife, mother, grandmother, retired nurse, friend and simply a gift to all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband Jim, sons Bud and Jimmy, daughters, Lee Ann and Pamela, and grandchildren Katarina, Konrad and KC.

The family wishes to give thanks to the nurses at Prince William Hospital for making Audrey's last days as comfortable as possible. We are particularly grateful for the virtual online visits with her family.

Audrey was born in New York City and spent many years living on Long Island, NY, in Kansas City, MO, Crofton, MD. and for the last four years in Haymarket, VA. She graduated as president of her nursing class and for the next 40 years worked in many nursing fields from pediatrics to geriatrics. She excelled in the field of mental health. Audrey received many commendations from her supervisors during her career and was always a valued employee.

In her off time, Audrey loved to host backyard barbecues with family and friends, travel,(especially to California to see her grandchildren) and socialize with close friends. Her family will always remember her legacy of giving, kindness, sparkle, fun and love. She gave of herself every day to always help her family and others in need. Her family will miss her every day, but she will live on in our hearts and in our deeds as we try our best to follow her example to do good while we are here on this precious planet Earth.

As Audrey fought to beat Covid-19 we witnessed her strong spirit and calm resolve. She opened her beautiful blue eyes the day before she passed and showed us that love is really all we need, and if we just open our eyes and our hearts to see and feel it, all will be well as we face our uncertain future together as God's family.

The family will celebrate a private funeral service Friday at Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas, VA. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Nystagmus Network ( and/or the The Women's Alzheimer's Movement (

A memorial celebration of Audrey's life will be announced at a later date.

Dear Pam, This must be so hard for you on Mothers Day, although you are probably the strongest person I know. You always took such good care of your Mom and spoke of her lovingly. She will be in heaven so proud of you and watching over you.

Dearest Conley family,
This first Mother's Day without your wife and mom won't be easy. All those firsts are difficult. And yet today is a perfect day to reflect on all that Audrey meant to you- and will always mean to you.
I pray that the beautiful memories bring smiles to your faces and joy to your hearts. Sending big hugs.

Mr. Conley,

I only spent a short time with your wife, but I learned she was a fighter. I learned she raised an amazing, Christian family who loved her very much. I want you to know she was not alone and she had her rosary in her hand. She was calm and peaceful tucked into her white sheets and blanket like the angel she was. I promise you I will never forget her, or your family. It was clear her love for you is eternal when she responded to your kiss. God bless you all, may she Rest In Peace.

I love you Mom - Happy Mother's Day and thank you for leaving us with a legacy of love.

You gave of herself every day to always help her family and others in need no matter what. We will miss you every day, but you will live on in our hearts and in our deeds as we to try our best to follow your example to do good while we are here on this precious planet Earth.

You taught me to face problems or a path less traveled with fight and Faith - not fear.

Your devoted daughter-

I sort of lost track of you when you and Audrey left the Crofton area.We used to enjoy playing golf and discussing politics, which I miss very much. I am so saddened to read about the loss of your lovely wife. May God bless the both of you. I guess we are not really Irish unless life can eventually break our hearts! Tom Clabby
